This is one of my favorite ideas of all time!! And like so many brilliant concepts in life, comes from my wonderful mother—Thanks Mom!

When I got engaged , my mom suggested we start snatching up any cute, cheap summery tank tops, dresses, skirts, etc. and set them aside for my tropical honeymoon. The deal was they had to be cheap—anything we saw on super sale or clearance after the summer season- and I couldn’t wear them before the honeymoon. So throughout my year of engagement, whenever my mom, sister, and I went shopping, we would keep our eyes open for some fab deals on summer clothes- a $2 tank here, a $4 cover-up there, and then it would go in a drawer at my parents’ house so I wouldn’t be tempted to cheat. By the time I was packing for my honeymoon, I had accumulated quite the stash of clothes- and had at least one new thing to wear every day! It was so amazing to go into the honeymoon euphoria with this whole new wardrobe- and seemed fitting since I was starting a new life with my husband. And it saved a huge amount of stress and money the weeks before the wedding, when I would have otherwise had to run out and grab the basics I needed for a much higher price.

So now I’m a huge advocate for other brides-to-be to start their own honeymoon stash—it’s affordable, special, and so much fun! Make it something you share with the important girls/shoppers in your life- it’s a blast to pursue the mission together!
